The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.

Coffey & Wilson Post 688 was re-activated in February 2017 after many years of inactivity. The “paper post” has been safeguarded for over 20 years by Thomas Trombone, and has now been turned over to the new Post Commander, Juan Diaz.

Post 688 holds monthly meetings the last Thursday of every month at historic Fort Hamilton. We meet at the FH Community Club in the Rifle Room. Veterans are welcomed to attend and join us for camaraderie and community activity and of course to support and give back to our veterans.

Please note that Fort Hamilton is the only active US Army Post in New York City, and security procedures are always in effect. If you are interested in joining or visiting please notify the admin at admin@coffeywilsonpost-688.org
